36 weeks pregnant

being pregnant is exhausting.

no, i'm not complaining - it's just a fact. doctor appointments, shopping for baby clothes, diapers, bottles, etc. and when you finally think you have pretty much everything taken care of, there's always something else to do like packing a hospital bag which i promise is NOT easy. i mean, why can't everybody just agree on what is really necessary? i can't imagine needing everything on these lists while we are at the hospital. but, since it's our first baby, well.. i guess we'll have to trust them, right?

anyway.. now i'm doing a little prep to get birth announcement cards out as soon as possible before baby arrives. i'd never thought it'd be so hard to pick out a design - there are so many cute ones online that it is so difficult for me to narrow them down.

we're so excited and hope our little girl comes soon.

  1. Hey you! I can imagine how it must be to be thinking about all the practicalities ON TOP OF the physical changes happen to your body. Hang in there :) XoXo

    1. oh the physical changes... at first, it is really hard to accept it, but later on.. well, you just get used to it. i can't remember what it feels like to walk properly, let alone run, or simply sleep through the night (this huge belly makes it unbelievably uncomfortable to find a position to rest).
but, you know.. i try to think about all the things i'll finally be able to do when the baby comes :) and it suddenly makes me feel better about my body.
i guess the worst thing is worrying about the baby.. is she ok in there? will she be healthy and strong? what is she going to look like? will i love her right away? am i going to be a good mom? i mean.. that's the worst part of all.. :)

  2. Bring practical baby clothes. It is hard to change a complicated outift that is covered to the neck in poo, they do that at first ;). Comfy cloths for you. Blankets for baby bc hospital rooms are cold. It is pretty basic at first. You willl always forget something! Bring post maternity pads and a camera, 2 musts ;)

Can you believe I miss this part?! My two boys are bigger now and I miss the new baby. I dont think that part ever gets old, especially after you forget half of it

    1. i have this feeling that no woman has any idea of what taking care of a newborn is like until she has to do it for the first time, am i right? i mean.. i have read pretty much everything about it and i still don't know if i'm going to succeed at it. i'm freaking out a little bit, you know... i try not to think about it too much anyway.. :)

  3. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for sharing that uplifting song with me. I'm going to go and listen to it just as soon as I submit this comment. I totally over packed my hospital bag for my first baby. I'm packing much lighter the second time around... Things on my "to pack" list:
    - Coming home outfit for mom and baby, including a nursing bra.
    - make up/ toiletries
    - Camera
    - Nutella and fresh fruit
Yep, I think that's about all actually! Good luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy. I look forward to your sweet babys arrival.

oh, i knew it!! that must happen all the time - i mean, people tell you to take so many unnecessary stuff and i really don't feel like overpacking. really don't!
Nutella and fresh fruits? i actually hadn't thought about food!! you're awesome - thank you! i'm going to pack something that doesn't go bad right now so i won't forget!

anyway.. hope you liked the song!

  4. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the exhausting part of pregnancy is just practice for a newborn. Hard to believe, but right now you've got it easy! Take care and rest up, this is your last chance!!! (coming from a sleep deprived new mummy - I'm writing this at mid-day in my pajamas lol)
