something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

So we got married three weeks ago. Yeah!

1. No, we did not do it the old-fashioned way.
2. No, I did not wear white.
3. Yes, we had a church wedding.
4. And well, we were seven. Nine total, actually.

First of all, I've been living with my (now) husband for three years and a week. We met at work almost five years ago and we definitely hated each other as soon as we first met (sic!). You know me: I could never go for anything easier... I thought he was rude and obnoxious and he thought... well, that's just not your business. We pretty much clashed in every possible way.

We had this mutual friend who did not know we didn't get along that well. He invited me to have some drinks and I had absolutely no idea he was going to be there that day. We actually ended up having a very good time and became friends that afternoon.

As time went by, we developed a great friendly relationship and we actually double dated once or twice. I laughed at the blondie he used to date. You know the type. Beautiful and a little... stupid. But I thought we would be great friends and that's it, so.. blond, beautiful or raging monster: I didn't really care. She was fun, though. That was the kind of girl who would call the pizza place and, instead of ordering right away, she would ask the poor guy on the phone about his thoughts on every pizza flavor they had. And she would end up ordering the most unreasonable mix of flavors one could ever think of bringing together. (I'd have to admit I kindda liked her - hehe).

Due to a big, big problem I was having with a roommate, I didn't feel like being at home at all. I'm not the party-party kind of girl, but at that time, it was just unbearable to be at my apartment and I would find thousands of excuses for never being able to call it a night and just go home. Since Lucas and I worked together, he was the patient, dying-to-go-home-but-keeping-me-company-until-really-late-at-night-almost-every-day-for-a-whole-month guy. I had him prisioner of my inability to handle my personal problems for such a long time that he finally decided it would be better for his health if I just moved in with him for once, or at least until I found another apartment to go to.

Cutting a long story short, we got married less than a month ago and I am very happy, thank you very much! We've been living together for a while now, so nothing has changed that much. I just have to get used to the "husband" and "wife" titles, but everything is pretty much the same as before. Thank God for that! We've been having a kiss-ass newlywed life!
